2016 was one of the best and worst years of my life. After getting married in January, I found myself broke with a huge pile of debts by June. I lost my sportswear business, and so did my mental health. Depression, anxiety, and hopelessness crippled my life.
It was a humbling experience overall. All I could do then was to cry, pray, and start over again. Apart from God and family, one thing that helped me get back on track is this: learning. I read more books in six months than in all my years of elementary, high school, and college combined. Furthermore, I also spent hundreds of hours attending classes on business, marketing, and finance.
By God’s grace, in 2017 I started an online transportation service that sustained our family for three years. It was a great business that could have lasted longer, yet Covid-19 happened. What’s good is that the lessons I’ve learned throughout the years were something the pandemic could not take away from me. After a few months, I successfully transitioned to a new venture with the help of my wife. She carried most of our monthly expenses through her jewelry business while I worked on our Chromebook Store.
Currently, Lalaine and I operate all our businesses at home. I can’t be thankful enough for the opportunity to work and be with my family at the same time. Glory to God!
